Ionian Area
A sailing destination that suits all sailing abilities as distances between the main cluster of islands are short so you don’t have to sail for hours at a time if you don’t want to but for more adventurous sailors the northern and southern extremities of the Ionian islands offer longer passages.

The Ionian Sea is known for its excellent sailing conditions with plenty of wind to have a really fun sailing holiday in the sunshine. Usualy, winds increase about lunchtime and decrease at sunset. You can spend the morning sailing gently to a lunch time stop to a secluded bay or pretty village and go for a swim or snorkel, have lunch on board and then have a great sail to your evening destination. The winds are fairly consistent and usually result in a very calm evening with still waters.

North Ionian
It takes some more miles and experience to reach the North Ionian Area, in which you can find the beautiful island of Paxos. Mooring in Lakka, situated on the North side of Paxos island, is almost surrealistic because of its marvelous environment. You can count the fish in the emerald blue bay. A visit to Yannis Taverna should not be missed. The small town of Gaios, situated at the West side of the island. Sailing in here alone is already worthwhile! It is not only the island of paxos that is so beautiful, there are many more beautiful places such as Parga, Plateria, Corfu etcetera. Have a look in the Sailing Area Map below to explore more more beautiful spots.
